Yipeeeee.....We done it!!!
I am pleased to be able to bring you some breaking news from Kids Cooking Co Headquarters....
....we came runner up in the Best South Hams Business returning with the most stunning trophy and came 3rd in the Best New Business which completely blew me away. I arrived home, my girls threw the door open jumping and screaming" yippee mummy you are star pupil of the week" ( a school thing) ! The champagne was dusted off and celebrations were started.. any excuse to have a little party! Firstly to be selected was a huge achievement for me but to have come runner up I really didn`t expect that..but I do love surprises! This has given me more determination to fire ahead and release some new characters as by the sounds of it people are loving the range. I am having so much fun..I really could get used to this lifestyle.Below is a picture of Kate and myself being presented the award by Susan Osman from BBC News 24-our 5 minutes of fame!!

Our Very First Trade Show At The NEC-Autumn Fair 2008

Wow! Where do I start...As we set the stand up I started to feel a little concerned, gazing around the large hall were the most glamorous stands filled with their beautiful ranges of stock.. As we built our stand I started to have huge doubts about whether I was out of my depth. My friend Kate who kindly agreed to come and help kept reassuring me, stating that it was original and endearing and what Kids Cooking Co represented -but I still could not shake that deep dull feeling.
9.00am on Sunday morning the doors open.. and I have not looked back. Customer after customer turned up to have a look at the range, followed by the most fabulous comments. Orders were coming in thick and fast, not knowing which way to turn next, the adrenaline was flowing... totally absorbing the moment. What a team we made I had the pleasure in meeting everybody and telling them my little tale and Kate carried out all the hard work of writing the orders up...6.00 came, time to celebrate we had taken 38 orders,drinks were on me!! Back at the hotel we met up with friends who also were exhibiting, we exchanged tales and drank more...aah I wish I had taken it steady! The next morning I wasn`t feeling too hot. The chaos started again and we had order after order, so many kind words were said and I really started to feel overwhelmed ...everybody loved the range,it was going down a treat. Instead of going with the flow, I took a turn for the worse and became totally overwhelmed.. Kate took over, so I could have time to chill out...palpitations kicked in feeling so scared and worried that I may not meet the demands of everybody. After many words of support,a hot bath and a glass of wine, I was back. Bring it on!! I am truly so thankful that so many people took the time to come and see us, it means a great deal to me..I`m home now, the orders are flying out, receiving many reorders....returning with 100 stockists we are certainly being kept on our toes!.A huge thank you to Kate for her super support and hard work.xx
